Windows 10 Retail Deployment

Deploying Windows 10 to pan-European high street retail stores, including discovery and packaging for 300 applications.

APPtechnology was approached by a pan-European high street retailer to assist with the deployment of Windows 10 to their stores.

This engagement kicked off via our Windows 10 accelerator, which covered:

• Capture of all applications currently in use.
• Rationalisation of applications based usage and normalisation to reduce the number of applications required for the migration.
• SCCM Health check
• Intune and Autopilot Gap Analysis
• Creation of personas to identify usage of applications and machines by location and business area.
• Delivery of workshops to present findings and project options.

APPtechnology then delivered the application stream for the overall Windows 10 migration. This involved daily project management of both the APPtechnology team as well as other teams that fed into and from the application stream, as well as a project tracking solution that gave live exec and operational progress reporting to the wider estate.

The application stream required the discovery and packaging for 300 applications that were required to support the retail stores' estate. This required close working with the Software Asset management Team, IT Infrastructure Teams as well as the end users to make sure all applications were packaged and tested correctly.

With close collaboration, the project was successfully delivered on time and within budget, and we are proud to have been part of this journey in delivering a modern platform to the high street for this pan-European retailer.
